I realized I haven't updated this in awhile, and that I probably should; I've had a lot going on.
I now currently live with my ex boyfriend, his brother and our three dogs (all male). It is literally a Five Penis Household.
I love it though-rent is cheap and its nice to have some company around.
I'm currently working for Hollywood Video as a shift leader, hopefully to be promoted again soon.

GOOGLE
Okay, kids, stop whatever you are doing; if you have time to read my crappy blogs, you have time to do this: go to Google and look at the amazing things they offer. I'm not just talking about Google Maps, Google Earth, or Google Search-I'm talking about Google Blogs (like this one!), Picasa for your photos, Google Sketch Up or Google Talk. I think it's awesome that you can get all of these things for free from Google.
I know I sound like an infomercial, but I'm just overly excited about all the things that I've discovered.
UKULELE PLAYERS
I'll admit it. I'm obsessed with Ukuleles. If you haven't heard of Julia Nunes, you should have. (Really, you should keep up with these things!). Also, another guy I randomly found is from the UK. He has a band called Pocket Fox, and it's amazing. I haven't ever seen anyone who can play a ukulele like a guitar, but somehow they do it. It's awesome, plus you have the random UK accent thrown in.
Oh, My Darling Nick
If you know me in real life, I've probably talked about my friend Nick Adams. He's simply amazingly funny, and an all around fabulous guy. If he didn't live in California, I would make him marry me. He also does various voices. Go check out his youtube channel!

Reign Over Me/Ukulele
REIGN OVER ME
Even though Adam Sandler is best known for his roles as "Little Nicky", "Billy Madison", or (my personal favorite) "The Water Boy", but nobody ever talks about his serious roles. Once I saw him in "spanglish" I was totally hooked.
"Reign Over Me" is the story of Charlie Finnneman and his old college roommate, Alan Johnson, who is trying to help Charlie deal with the loss of his family in the 9/11 attacks. Charlie's mental state is fragile and sporatic, to say the least.
As Alan tries to get Charlie to come to grips with this reality, you can't help but see that Charlie ahs acknowledged the loss a little too well. Charlie's ever-present memories of his family continally replay in his mind, causing Charlie to be suicidal and not able to "remember" anything, which makes Alan try even harder to "fix: Charlie.
Watch the movie, I liked it.
Rockin' the Uke
One of my lovely friends, Melissa McCraw, is amazing. The girl plays-no ROCKS- several insturmetns: Piano, Ukulele, Harmonica, Banjo, Guitar, Kazoo...I love it. I've known Melissa since she was in pampers, and I've never been more proud of her! She's a super hippie, and I totally dig it. I highly recomnd that you go check her out.
Also, my friend Matt plays the ukulele, which is really making me want to buy and learn how to play. I'm totally thinking Matt and I could make a Uke version of Tenacious D. Go check it out ya'll!
Now, for my next blog I'm thinking of making a Boyfriend Application at the request of several friends. Thoughts?

Lake of Fire Review
I rented the documentary "Lake of Fire" as a way to open my mind more to both sides of the abortion debate. I have been, for quite some time, Pro-Choice.
I have always stood by my choice and vote, simply because even though I have never been in the situation, hope not to be in the situation, and would not have an abortion myself, I realize that others are not so fortunate as me, and that sometimes life is rough.
"Lake of Fire" is a black and white documentary by Tony Kaye, released in Toronto in 2006, and is the only film that I have found that gives both sides (i.e. Pro-Choice vs. Pro-Life) equal time, and even goes into a few people who are neutral, debating the pros and cons of both. It is honestly a very equal film, but does show some very nasty,bloody, graphic images of an actual abortion.

I have never seen something so disgusting in my life as what I saw in some of that film, but it did make its point. I honestly don't think that many people have ever seen what an abortion looks like.
If you are looking for something to change your mind, this is not the film for you. You will question yourself from start to finish, as I did throughout the whole film.
I am still Pro-Choice for THESE reasons:
-I can't tell someone how to live their life.
-I cannot raise all children that pregnant woman produce, and neither can you.
-There's not enough great adopter/adoptee ratio. There's thousands of kids who don't have parents.
-If someone is raped or incest happens, would you let that child be born?
-Giving an irresponsible child a child does not make the irresponsible child responsible.
-I have heard and read on what happened in the 1950s with women and abortion. To ban abortion is to allow the possibility for women to try to perform back-alley abortions which can lead to sterility or death. I don't want that.
I would be Pro-Life for THESE reasons:
-a fetus inside a womb cannot fend for its life.
-a fetus did not decide to whom it would be born, or at what time, or what situation.
-Women have a choice for adoption.
The Pro-Life advocates were mainly hardcore Christian extremist. I want someone who can defend their stance on Pro-Life without using the Bible, personally. They gave examples of Pro-Lifers who murdered doctors who performed abortions. It was said that its okay to murder a doctor because he murdered children. Mind you, the murderers of the doctors thought they should be let free for "doing good deeds".
Some Pro-Lifers went so far as to tell women that by having abortions they were allowing men to take control of them because men can impregnate women and then simply have an abortion.
One of the most interesting points of the movies was a young man talking about his brother's girlfriend who decided to have an abortion, even though the man's family was supportive, offering to help the couple support the baby. The man talks about his brother, saying "Have you ever seen a father's face when he finds out his child is going to die?"
I have never thought about the fathers. Yes, I know how they could feel-to want a child, to love the unborn child, to want to hold that child in your arms....I can only imagine.
But at the same time, I have seen time and time again girls who are left bitter and alone after the guy has ran off. What about them? Suffer for nine months?? Pay to go to the doctor, quit school, face ridicule and judgment, possibly lose your job and then give it to the government in hopes someone else can do better,maybe?
However, a fetus can't talk. A fetus can't chose where it goes, when its born or who it's born to. A fetus doesn't know not to happen. It only knows it is.
I have began to think about the fact that if we had more birth control, there would be less pregnancy. But if there was more birth control, would more people be encouraged to have sex? If more people people were okay with having "safe sex", then would more condom accidents happen? Would it really solve anything? Would it promote more people to lose their virginity sooner? Or are we simply ignoring the fact that kids get stupid and have sex?
Are we failing our kids by not talking about sex? If we talk about sex, will more kids be safe? If more people are safe, will we have less abortions? If we have less abortions, would that be a bad thing?
"Lake of Fire" addresses the thoughts, points, and ideals of both sides. Now go rent it and decide yours.
